this was taken two nights ago, you're right it was way too cold for riding last night (i tried). i ended up on the subway two nights ago because it was pouring rain, and it was eerily quiet on the bike path.
seth, I met you in hawaii and once lived in NYC myself. your blog is really great. just curious to which camera you wander the streets with? I know it's not the easiest thing lugging a huge camera around that city...do you use something smaller? oh! and I think I might try and go see the giants show in LA this week. cheers.
hey rachel, great to hear from you. let me know if you drop by the giant show, i don't think i'm going to make it. i shoot with a bunch of different cameras. i'd love to shoot everything with the 5D but i don't like to pack it around. i try to always carry my ricoh with me for street shots. but when i don't have that with me i just use my iphone, which i know sounds silly, but for quick snap shots it kind of gets the job done (like the bike in the subway). all the aquarium shots are with the 5D, and the previous 10 or so images are with the ricoh.
dude, I thought I saw some phone in there... I shoot with a 5D as well, but that thing gets heavy! I've started just carrying around my canon ae1 as my everyday camera....but sometimes I just want digital (don't tell jon). anyway, great images. i'll let you know if I make it to the show. I'm sure it will be great.
